Culinary Academy and cooks

The Culinary Academy unlocks the cook profession, recipes, and specialization. It is marked on the map with 👨‍🍳 and appears in the Academies filter. Academies are in sectors A-3, B-3, C-9, D-12, and O-10. To unlock the profession, learn a recipe, or select a specialization, a character must travel to an academy on their island.

A cafe owner may be their own cook: they train at the academy, cook in their own kitchen, and need no invitation. Kitchen teams have two options. A state NPC cook can be hired immediately. Apprentice, cook, and head chef have fixed skill, a limited recipe list, and a wage for every started batch. A player cook is invited by login, accepts the invitation, improves skill to 100, and learns far more recipes. The owner sets the player cook's completed-batch wage.

An NPC cook may prepare only the list shown in Kitchen and menu. Ingredients are always consumed from the cafe stock. The owner controls stock and prices, and the state cook's costs are included in wages on the My cafe report.
