Cafes operate in every active sector. A private cafe is obtained through a daily Silver auction for 30 days; an outbid reservation is returned and the venue returns to the state after the term.
A Culinary Academy exists on the map of every active island. A player must travel there to unlock the cook profession, learn recipes, or choose a specialization. At skill 20, a cook chooses one specialization: grill master, pastry chef, or barista. It grants a quality bonus to matching meals. The owner moves 16 ingredient types to the kitchen warehouse, cooks meals, sets prices, and publishes them to the menu. Published menu items can be repriced or temporarily removed from sale. Only one main meal, drink, and dessert effect can be active at once; a new purchase in the same category replaces the former effect. Satiety restores immediately and decays at the rate set by administration.
In Kitchen team, an owner chooses one of two paths. A state NPC cook is available immediately: apprentice, cook, and head chef have fixed skills, a short recipe list, and a wage for every started batch. The other option is inviting a player cook. They accept the invitation, use their learned recipes, improve their skill, and may become more profitable than an NPC; the owner sets their completed-batch wage. Only the owner controls stock and menu prices. NPC orders require a specific prepared meal and consume it from stock on delivery. Repeated purchases by one customer during 24 hours grant no reputation, ranking, or Michelin credit. Cafe levels unlock slots, equipment, and recipes. A level 7 cafe may request Michelin inspection, requiring sales, reputation, recipes, and distinct customers. Stars have a cooldown and can be withdrawn after a warning if activity remains low. Sales tax is withheld. The My cafe finance card shows the last 30 days of revenue, ingredients, equipment, wages, tax, net result, and popular dishes.
