# Tools
Tools are sold in **State Shop → Useful → Tools**. They are not combat bonuses: they unlock or improve a concrete task.
- **Pruning shears** improve garden care and harvest.
- **Pickaxes and drills** are for extraction.
- **Axes and saws** are for wood.
- **Mechanic, gunsmith and armorer kits** are needed for matching repairs.
- **Metal detector and geological scanner** support scouting.
- **Sapper kit** is for mine disposal.
Every tool has durability. It is reduced after a successful action; at 0 the tool stops working until repaired or replaced. Repairing an item requires a working matching tool in inventory. Professional tools are stronger in their specialty; the universal kit is convenient but does not replace the best specialist tool.
## Where tools work
Pruning shears work during garden and tree harvests. Axes and saws improve the final wood reward from a withered tree. Pickaxes, drills and scanners work in extraction shifts and geological scouting. A hammer or engineering kit is required to build an extraction facility. The engineering kit reduces fuel use and vehicle wear during logistics. Electronic items are repaired with a screwdriver, pliers or a power tool.
## Objects on coastal maps
Every coastal zone has shared interactive objects. They are shown on the grid near the starting area. Move within one cell of an object and click it:
- An **abandoned container** can be opened with a knife, crowbar or multitool.
- A **locked door** needs a crowbar.
- A **mine** needs a sapper kit.
A successful action awards silver and removes 1 durability from the used tool. A cleared object disappears for every player and respawns elsewhere in the same zone after 30–60 minutes. Repeating a click cannot grant the reward twice.
